Watch Your Mouth!!!

I recently got a question from one of the youth at our church about the use of foul language.  I told her that I would research what the Bible said about foul language and here is what it says. In Ephesians 4:29 the Bible says “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”  The Bible also says in Ephesians 5:4 “Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.”  These are two scriptures that deal directly with how we speak and what kind of talk comes out of our mouths.  I like the fact that the Bible doesn’t only tell us what not to say but it also tells us how we should speak.  It says that we should say things that are good for building one another up.  It says that we should speak with thanksgiving.  Finally, Proverbs 21:23 says “Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble” so be careful about what you say and make sure that curses and foul language stay away from your mouth.  God bless you,
